Iran Press/ Iran News: The number of people killed following Monday's devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has reached at least 24,000 according to authorities.
The death toll in Turkey rose to 20,665, with 80,052 reported injuries, according to the country's disaster agency.
In Syria, the total number of those killed stands at 3,513, including 2,166 deaths in the northwest of the country, according to the volunteer organization Syria Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets.
Syrian state media also reported 1,347 deaths in government-controlled parts of Syria.
Iran Press News Agency correspondent reported from the epicenter of the Earthquake in the city of Kahramanmaras that tens of thousands of people are still under the rubble.
Debris removal from the devastating earthquake continues in ten southern provinces of Turkey, and the people are waiting to see their relatives and friends being pulled out from the rubble.
Eyewitnesses say that about one-third of the city of Kahramanmarash and its suburbs were destroyed by the devastating earthquake.
According to the Iran Press News Agency correspondent
All the residential buildings have been evacuated, people are living in the streets, tents, and cars in the cold of winter, and waiting every moment for one of their family members or relatives to be pulled out from under the rubble.
While watching the debris removal, a citizen told IranPress that so far eight of his relatives have been pulled out of the rubble.
Another person says, there is no shortage of food, but they have no relevant tools to search for people missing.
An Iran Press News Agency team on the ground is sending the latest news from the beginning of the disaster.
The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, affected more than 13 million people across 10 provinces, also including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa.
