Ankara (IP)- The relief workers of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran are providing services to the victims of the earthquake in Türkiye with non-stop efforts.

Iran PressAsia: On last Monday, February 6th, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 shook the southern regions of Türkiye and northern Syria.

The epicenter of this earthquake was in the province of Kahramanmaraş in southern Türkiye, but these two earthquakes, in addition to destroying the ten southern provinces of this country, have also left heavy casualties and damages in areas in the north of Syria.

From the very beginning of the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran voiced its readiness to provide relief services to the earthquake victims, and immediately, in addition to sending humanitarian aid, the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran also sent rescue workers to these countries to help the earthquake victims.

The second day of the search and rescue operation to remove those trapped under the rubble caused by the earthquake in Türkiye was completed with the cooperation and efforts of the Iranian Red Crescent mission teams there.

Iran's Red Crescent rescue forces managed to pull out three people alive from under the rubble. Seven other people were rescued from the rubble and lost their lives.

According to reports, the death toll from the Monday morning earthquake in the border areas of Syria and Turkey has reached around 15,000 people.
