Damascus (IP) - The plane carrying 45 tons of Iranian food, health and medicine in aid arrived at Damascus airport on Tuesday morning.

Iran PressMiddle East: An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale shook the south of Türkiye and the north of Syria on Monday morning, and according to the latest statistics, the death toll from the earthquakes has climbed past 4,300 and the number of injured has reached 2,400.

According to Iran press, the head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Organization announced earlier that 5 planes carrying humanitarian aid from Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and India will arrive at the Damascus and Latakia Airports on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria called on the member states of the United Nations, the UN secretariat, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other governmental and non-governmental institutions to help Syria and the Syrian government to solve the humanitarian disaster caused by the recent earthquake.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria also expressed its utmost gratitude to the countries and institutions that voiced their solidarity with the people of this country and declared their readiness to help them in this difficult situation.
