Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized Australia over the serial deaths of the asylum-seekers in the country.

Iran PressIran News: In a tweet on Tuesday, the Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote: "Continuation of the serial deaths of asylum seekers and the death of 500 aborigines in prisons of Australia might just be the tip of the iceberg of human rights violations there."

Nasser Kanaani pointed to the West's double standards and asked: " Will the "int'l community" hold Canberra accountable?"

Kanaani also earlier blamed Australia over its anti-Iranian actions, saying for many years, the Australian government has systematically violated the basic rights of the native people of the country, prisoners, and asylum seekers, and instead sheltered anti-Iranian terrorist and separatist groups.

Recently, Australia prevented the International Committee for the Prevention of Torture from visiting the detention centers of asylum seekers in the country.
