Turkish security forces “neutralized” four YPG/PKK terrorists in northern Syria, the National Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

Iran PressAsia: According to Yenisafak, a conservative, Islamist Turkish daily newspaper, the terrorists were plotting to launch an attack in the Operation Peace Spring and Euphrates Shield zones, the ministry said in a statement.

Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Since 2016, Ankara has launched a trio of military operations across its border in northern Syria: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).

The PKK – is listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU. The YPG is the PKK's Syrian branch.
