British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt along with his accompanied delegation held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday and discussed SPV, regional issues.

Iran Press/Iran news: The meeting took place at the Iranian foreign ministry building.

According to Iran press, during the meeting, Iranian and British top diplomats exchanged views on different aspects of bilateral relations including the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and developing economic and commercial ties in the framework of the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The officials have also discussed the most important regional issues including the need for accelerating the process to end the Yemen war and the other underway process in the region.

Meanwhile, the UK embassy in Tehran posted a tweet on Monday, mentioning to the first meeting between Mr. Hunt and Mr. Zarif.

“The UK Foreign Secretary @Jeremy_Hunt meets with Foreign Minister Zarif @JZarif at the start of his first visit to #Iran. Discussions during the visit will cover the Iran nuclear deal, the region and our concerns for our British dual-national cases,” the embassy said in the tweet.

SPV is a financial mechanism being devised by European officials to enable trade and banking services with Iran to continue despite the US sanctions. 101/202
