Islamabad (IP) - The first conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on science and technology, called (OIC-15) kicked off with the attendance of senior OIC members from 15 countries in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Iran PressAsia: The first conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on science and technology, called as (OIC-15) kicked off with the attendance of senior OIC members from 15 countries in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

OIC-15 two-day conference has been held as a joint initiative by Pakistan and Kazakhstan and cooperation of the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTEC) to broaden ties among 15 member countries in the field of Science and Technology.

Peyman Salehi, Vice Iranian Science Minister in Research and Technology affairs, participated in the event.

According to Islamabad, nine countries attended the meeting, and six other members of OIC will follow the session online.

Most developed OIC countries in Science and Technology would discuss strengthening the scientific and research collaboration among the organization's member states.

Areas of mutual interest and cooperation in education, science, and technology will also be under discussion. 

The countries of Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Morocco, Cameroon, and the United Arab Emirates are 15 members of the OIC conference on Science and Technology.
