Iran Press/Europe: The 20th edition of the International Holy Qur'an Competition in Russia ended at the Moscow Grand Mosque, and Seyyed Mostafa Hosseini from Iran won third place in the International Holy Qur'an Competition.
The international reciter from Turkey won first place and the reciter from Egypt came second.
The Muftis Council of Russia has organized the competition in cooperation with the World Union of Muslims.
Kuwait, Iraq, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Syria, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and Yemen are among the other countries taking part in the international Quranic event.
The competition is being held again after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Qari or reciter, in Islamic terminology, refers to one who recites the Quran according to the tajwid, or proper rules of recitation.
