Tehran (IP) - The ministers of interiors of Iran and Türkiye, in a telephone conversation, condemned the terrorist acts that happened in the two countries and called for the expansion of bilateral and regional relations and cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: Ahmad Vahidi and Süleyman Soylu also emphasized the joint fight against terrorism, the extradition of criminals and the fight against drug trafficking.

While expressing sympathy with his Turkish counterpart for the recent terrorist explosion in Istanbul, the Minister of Interior of Iran said: "Iran and Türkiye have common enemies and there should be more serious cooperation in the field of dealing with terrorism and perpetrators of insecurity in the two countries."

Vahidi pointed out the recent support and actions of the United States, Britain, the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia for the recent riots and incitement of rioters in Iran and said: "In the past, their plans to conspire and support sedition failed, and they will definitely taste failure in the recent events."

Iran's Minister of Interior noted: "The Islamic Republic of Iran always supports a strong and stable Türkiye and we believe that the authority and security of the two countries will benefit both sides and the region."

Vahidi appreciated his Turkish counterpart for inviting him to visit Ankara and expressed his hope that this trip would take place in the near future.

Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu also considered the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Türkiye as strategic and historical in this telephone conversation and said: "We always seek to strengthen and cement the relations between Ankara and Tehran as much as possible, and we consider this to be in the interest of the two nations and the countries of the region."

He added: "There are those who seek to weaken the relations between the two countries, and the officials of Türkiye and Iran should not give an opportunity to the ill-wishers of the two nations by strengthening relations in all aspects."

The Minister of Interior of Türkiye continued: "We are confident that the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran will manage the recent riots with tact and authority which are directed by some governments."

Soylu added: "In the discussion of border interactions, we see good and favorable cooperation between the two sides, and the video surveillance that we have created in the border areas will help to strengthen the security of the common borders."
