Bangkok (IP) – Iran's water polo team overpowered South Korea in its second match in the 2022 Asian Water Polo Championship.

Iran PressAsia: Iran overpowered South Korea 17-8 on Wednesday in Pool A.

Iran is due to face Kazakhstan on Thursday.

Earlier, Iran had beaten India 19-4 at the Championship opening match on Tuesday.

The competition is underway in Bangkok, Thailand from November 7th to 13th.

The Asian Water Polo Championship serves as a qualification for the 2023 World Water Polo Championship which is due to be held in Fukuoka of Japan.

The top two teams and the host, Japan, will qualify for participating in the world championship.
