Dushanbe (IP) - Iran's Prominent Poet called the connection and links between Iran and Tajikistan very deep and strong, saying that Tajikistan is one of the origins of the Persian language.

Iran PressAsia: Alireza Qazweh, Iran's Prominent Poet who also chairs the Office of Poetry and Music of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency correspondent, said: "The relationship between Iran and Tajikistan is not a matter of recent years but goes back to thousands of years ago, and the two countries have many linguistic and cultural commonalities."

He added: "Following the independence of Tajikistan from the Soviet Union, Iran was the first country to recognize it."

Iranian cultural week programs are being held in Bokhtar, Khujand, and Dushanbe cities of Tajikistan.

During his trip to Dushanbe, Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili stated that holding the cultural week of Iran and Tajikistan after a gap of 14 years shows that the two countries have a serious determination to expand relations and cooperation.

 

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Salari, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Art Affairs said: The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan have established a common cultural zone.
