New York (IP) – Iranian Foreign Minister has raised the latest developments of the Vienna talks and discussed the matter with the United Nations Secretary-General.

Iran PressAmerica: In the Tuesday meeting with Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly in New York, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that good progress had been made in the talks in Vienna, Austria, on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) and the removal of anti-Iran sanctions and Tehran believes that a Vienna agreement would be achievable if the United States takes a decision based on a realistic approach.

The UN secretary general, for his part, said that the UN has always backed the return of all sides to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and hopes that an agreement will be made soon.

Guterres also appreciated Iran's important role in aiding peace and security consolidation in West Asia.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that the Islamic Republic is a democratic system and said: "We are of the opinion that people have the right to hold peaceful protests, but it is different from riots and disruption of public order."

The two sides also discussed the issues of mutual interests.
