The head of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, has said Denmark should answer questions about why terrorists are walking freely on its soil, and why it has turned a blind eye to their activities for so many years.

Iran news: According to an Iran Press report on Thursday, Falahatpisheh added: "By making false accusations against Iran, Denmark has played into US hands, has shown a green light to the United States, and has turned attention away from its own shortcomings and failings vis-a-vis terrorists."

Falahatpisheh referred to Danish claims about alleged Iranian involvement in an assassination attempt in Denmark, saying terrorists who have carried out terror attacks in Iran are living freely in Denmark and some other European countries, and are even brazen enough to claim responsibility for their acts of terror in cyberspace and internet.

The senior parliamentarian added: "Denmark should first of all explain why so many terrorists are walking freely on its soil. They should also set out their stance clearly vis-a-vis the European Union's efforts to counter America's unilateralism."

On October 9, Iran's parliament speaker, Ali Larijani said that unlawful and unilateral actions of world powers such as US have created problems for the international community.

Fallahatpisheh added: "Despite the fact that relations with the EU are very important, we mustn't endanger our security because of diplomatic considerations. The (Iranian) foreign ministry should have taken a more serious and forceful stance vis-a-vis Denmark, since there is irrefutable evidence that leaders of terrorist groups which have carried out attacks and atrocities in Iran are living freely in Denmark. We should have demanded action from the Danes, to arrest these people, something which the foreign ministry failed to do."

Also, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said on Wednesday that Europe should not allow third parties opposed to growing ties between Iran and the EU to press ahead with their baseless accusations and planned scenarios to adversely affect ties between Iran and the EU.
