After a three-day trip to Uzbekistan, for an official bilateral meeting and participation in the 22nd meeting of the heads of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Iranian president left Samarkand for Tehran.

Iran PressAsia: Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi left the historic city of Samarkand for Tehran on Friday evening after a three-day trip to Uzbekistan for an official bilateral meeting with the president of this country and participation in the 22nd meeting of the heads of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Raisi also met and talked with a number of heads of states participating in this meeting, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Russia, Belarus, China, India and Turkey, as well as the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the sidelines of the 22nd SCO meeting.

Meeting Iranian businessmen living in Uzbekistan, attending the Ahl al-Bayt Rasoolullah (PBUH) mosque in Samarkand city and giving a speech to the worshipers of this mosque, participating in the planting ceremony commemorating the 22nd summit of the member states of the Shanghai Organization and visiting the Registan Square complex, were on Iran's President schedule in his visit to Uzbekistan.

Also, during this trip, the official documents of Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization were signed between Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the process of upgrading the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran from an observer member to the main member of this important regional union was completed. 219
