Tehran (IP)- In a meeting with the Minister of Mines of the interim government of Afghanistan, the Chinese ambassador announced the start of Aynak copper mining in Logar Province.

Mes Aynak mine, or copper Aynak mine, is the largest copper mine in Afghanistan and the second copper mine in the world. 

"Wang Yu," the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, in a meeting with "Shahabuddin Delawar," the acting minister of mines and oil of the interim government of the Taliban, said that the exploration and extraction of the Aynak Logar copper mine will begin soon, Bakhtar news agency reported.

The contract for exploitation of the Aynak mine, which was signed in 2008 and during the presidency of Hamid Karzai, between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan and the Chinese company MCC, has not been implemented so far. 

The Taliba also hands over the oil extraction of the Amu Sea to China.

Afghanistan is rich in underground mines that have remained untouched due to war and instability in recent years or have been smuggled out by the powerful.
