Konya (IP) - Iranian swimmer set a new record in 200m backstroke.

Iran PressAsia: According to the correspondent of Iran Press, Iran's 200m backstroke swimmer Abolfazl Sam set a new record for Iranian swimming in this event with a time of 2 minutes, 4 seconds and 67 hundredths of a second.

Iran's national swimming team won this record in the preliminary stage of the 200m freestyle swimming competition behind the solidarity games of Islamic countries and went to the finals of these games.

Earlier, Iranian swimmers had made it to the finals of the 200m freestyle competition behind the solidarity games of Islamic countries. 

According to the correspondent of Iran Press, in the swimming competitions of the Solidarity Games of Islamic Countries, in the 200-meter backstroke event, Homer Abbasi and Abolfazl Sam, two Iranian national swimmers, reached the finals.

Abolfazl Sam set a record of 2 minutes, 4 seconds and 67 hundredths of a second in Iran's 200m backstroke swimming and reached the finals by winning the second place overall.

Also, Homer Abbasi reached the final with a time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds and 53 hundredths of a second and won the sixth overall title.
