Iran Press/Africa: President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Amadou Sow, new ambassador of Senegal to Tehran said, promoting ties with African states is among Iran’s policies and Iranian companies are ready to have more active presence in Senegal, official website of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported.
Speaking on Tuesday, president described development of relations with African countries, including Senegal, as one of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policies and stressed that Iranian companies were ready to have more active presence in Senegal, and they are ready to take part in developmental projects.
Rouhani said, “Deepening relations with Senegal, as a friendly, Muslim country, has always been important for Iran”.
“Iranian companies are ready to further develop their active presence in Senegal in different fields, including construction, automobile manufacturing, pharmacy and health services,” he continued.
He also went on to stress the importance of collective fight against terrorism in Africa and the Middle East and continued, “Iran is ready to develop its relations with Senegal in the field of combating terrorism”.

New ambassador of Senegal to Tehran presented his credentials to the President and said, "Senegal was determined to cement ties with Iran in all fields of mutual interest, especially economy".
He also said, “The presence of Iranian business people in Senegal is an honour for us and the government has considered special visa facilities for Iranian business people”.
President Rouhani also in a meeting with new South African ambassador to Tehran said, Iran- South Africa’s economic potentials can supplement each other.
Stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers South Africa as its close friend, President said, “With regard to the closeness of the two nations, we are willing to establish closer ties with the popular and democratic government of South Africa”.
Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with the new South African ambassador to Tehran Vika Mazwi Khumalo, President Hassan Rouhani said, “In addition to the bilateral ties, the two countries have supported each other in international stages and we hope that we can further develop our relations in cultural, political and economic fields”.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran and South Africa have very good potentials and their economies can supplement each other,” he continued.
He also said, “Iran’s previous regime had close ties with the Apartheid government in oil, economy and mines and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we cut all our relations with South Africa to help its people fight Apartheid”.
He also stressed the importance of deepening financial and banking relations between the two countries and expressed hope to witness further developments in these fields.
New South African ambassador to Tehran Vika Mazwi Khumalo presented his credentials to President Rouhani and said, “We are determined to deepen our relations and cooperation with Iran, as stressed by Nelson Mandela”.
He also referred to the ruling of The Hague in favour of Iran and said, “South Africa always supports the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stances in international communities”.
“We are determined to develop our economic cooperation and relations with Iran,” he continued.
