Tehran (IP) - The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar had a phone conversation on Saturday night regarding bilateral issues of interest.

In this telephone conversation, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Foreign Minister of Qatar, discussed the latest developments in the relations between the two countries in various fields, including political, economic and consular.

Amir Abdallahian also mentioned the Doha negotiations and emphasized that the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to reach a good, strong and stable agreement.

Iran's top diplomat added that the White House should put aside extravagant demands and take a real step towards reaching a solution and an agreement.

As the United States was the party that violated the JCPOA, it is Washington that should return to the agreement by lifting sanctions and it is necessary for Iran to verify the implementation of America's commitments in this regard.

In his part, Qatar's foreign minister while noting the importance of the consultations regarding the relations between the two countries on bilateral issues, also stressed Qatar's full readiness to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of the upcoming football World Cup. 219
