Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Sport and Youths says that Türkiye president is interested in inviting Iranian women athletes wearing hijab to join Turkish clubs.

Iran PressIran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Hamid Sajjadi pointed out: "Türkiye insists that its Muslim women follow Iranian hijab-wearing athletes as their role models.

Hamid Sajjadi noted: "Regarding winter sports and activities, Türkiye has a good capacity that Iran can use.

Regarding Iran's participation in the competitions of Islamic countries, which will be held in Türkiye in about 20 days, he said: "Iran will send one of its most immense sports caravans to Turkiye, consisting of more than 480 people, a significant number of whom are women."

He further added that Iran and Türkiye have discussed how to expand their ties in modern and high-tech sports such as car racing and motorcycling, which are among the exciting and favorite sports of the youth, as well as football, volleyball and basketball.

Expressing his great interest in vast capacities of cooperation between Iran and Türkiye in sports and youth fields, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu once again invited Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth to participate in the competitions of Islamic countries.

Minister of Sport and Youth Hamid Sajjadi held a meeting with Turkish sports minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who accompanied President Erdogan on his visit to Tehran.
