New Zealand recorded 11,464 new community cases of COVID-19 and 29 more deaths from the pandemic; Malaysia reported 2,345 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Tuesday, bringing the national total to 4,600,736, the countries' Ministries of Health said on Wednesday.

Iran PressAsia: In addition, 355 COVID-19 cases have recently traveled overseas, New Zealand Ministry of Health said.

Currently, 729 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals, including 18 in intensive care units or high dependency units.

New Zealand has so far reported 1,452,748 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic hit the country in early 2020.

Malaysia reports 2,345 new COVID-19 cases, 3 more deaths

There are three new imported cases, with 2,342 cases being local transmissions, data released by Malaysia Ministry of Health showed.

Three new deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 35,819.

The ministry reported 2,384 new recoveries, lifting the total number of cured and discharged to 4,529,201.

There are 35,716 active cases, with 52 being held in intensive care and 31 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 10,662 vaccine doses administered on Tuesday and 85.9 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 83.7 percent are fully vaccinated and 49.5 percent have received the first booster and 0.5 percent have received the second booster.
