Iran Press/ Asia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is visiting Turkiye on an official invitation by his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The visit is scheduled to give a boost to bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional and international cooperation.
Amir-Abdollahian and Recep Tayyip Erdogan conferred on the most important developments in the region, among them the situation in Syria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned over the past few weeks that he may soon launch a new offensive in Syria against outlawed Kurdish militants in Syria who are waging an insurgency against the Turkish state.
Both Washington and Moscow have called for restraint from Turkiye.
But Erdogan has said he expects Turkiye’s allies to “understand and respect” the proposed military campaign.
He said on Monday that the offensive would begin "as soon as our preparations are finished."
