Iran Press/ Middle East: The Hamas delegation headed by Ismail Haniyeh started its visit to Lebanon last Tuesday.
Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyah met on Thursday evening with Ziad al-Nakhala, secretary-general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The two sides discussed the field and political developments related to the Palestinian issue, the developments in occupied Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the occupier regime's efforts to divide it in time, and space, and the Israeli regime's ongoing threats against the Palestinian people.
The delegation of Hamas and Islamic Jihad also referred to the efforts of the occupying regime to expand its influence in the region through the normalization of ties and its negative repercussions on the issue of Palestine.
In the meeting, comprehensive resistance was emphasized as the only strategic option to confront the occupying enemy, and the two sides addressed issues and problems related to the Palestinian people inside and outside the refugee camps and ways to provide a dignified life for all the children of the Palestinian nation everywhere.
The delegations of Hamas and the Islamic Movement also examined the position of resolving the internal situation in Palestine and stressed the need to achieve national unity based on confrontation with the occupying regime and efforts to meet the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people.
It is worth mentioning that the Hamas delegation headed by Ismail Haniyeh met with Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and President Michel Aoun and a number of other Lebanese political and religious officials during their visit to Lebanon and discussed developments in the region and Palestine.
