New Delhi (IP) – Two Iranian para-cyclists made it to the finals of the Asian Track Cycling Championships 2022 underway in New Delhi.

Iran PressAsia: The Asian Track Cycling Championships 2022 is underway at the Indoor Cycling Velodrome at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi from June 18 to 22.

Mehdi Mohammadi and Behrouz Farzad won their matches on the second day of 4,000m track cycling and became finalists.

Farzad also grabbed a gold medal yesterday in the 1,000m category, scoring a record of 1:16:920.

Para cyclists from 18 countries are participating in the competitions.

The winners will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The competition is divided into 10 weight classes each in men’s and women’s categories. Athletes compete in a single weight class. The event will end with the men’s, women’s, and mixed team events.
