Vienna (IP)- The head of Iran's Mission to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna stressed: "We will take appropriate action in response to the adoption of a possible anti-Iran resolution in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors."

Iran PressEurope: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press in Vienna on the sidelines of the quarterly meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors on the subject of Iran, Mohammad Reza Ghaebi has stated that the IAEA Director-General's report on Iran's nuclear program is unbalanced and has been justified for some countries to take action against Iran.

"The political report of the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency has been used as an excuse for the United States and three European countries to submit a resolution with anti-Iranian political goals," said Ghaebi.

The head of Iran's Mission to international organizations in Vienna stressed that Iran's position has been made clear and transparent in the event of a resolution being issued by the Board of Governors and that this resolution is unconstructive and destructive.

The top diplomat went on to say that if the United States and three European countries insisted on a resolution, Iran would reciprocate and respond firmly to their unconstructive action.

Ghaebi expressed hope that they would back down in the short time remaining as a result of diplomatic talks.

The Iranian diplomat also stated that the root of the problem lies in the illegal withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA and that Iran has taken healing measures by its rights under the NPT and Paragraphs 26 and 36 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA), in accordance with the Parliament's law.

Ghaebi has stressed that US sanctions against Iran violate international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and have had humanitarian implications for the Iranian people.

The diplomat noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran had participated constructively in the negotiations related to the revival of the JCPOA and that it was obstruction by the American side that the talks had not been concluded.

The head of Iran's Permanent Mission to international organizations in Vienna said that if the Americans agree to implement their commitments verifiable and trusted by Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to return to the JCPOA-related obligations with the other parties.
