The Cannes Film Festival celebrated its 75th anniversary this year and its big prize, the Palme d’Or, was awarded to Ruben Ostlund’s Triangle of Sadness, a satire of modern capitalism.

Iran PressEurope: The International Film Festival in Cannes (France) has been held on an annual basis since 1946 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès on the Croisette. The film festival is considered one of the most prestigious in the world. The Palme d’Or is the main award of the event, which this year runs from 17 to 28 May.

The closing ceremony of the 75th Cannes Film Festival was held, and finally the film "Triangle of Sorrow" directed by "Ruben Ostlund" won the Palme d'Or for Best Picture.

This is the Swedish director’s second time winning the coveted prize. In 2017, he won for The Square, a satire of the art world.

The 75th Cannes Film Festival, after two weeks of standing ovations and walkouts, is coming to a close this evening of May 28, 2022. The festival was back to its usual glitz and glamor this year culminating in this evening's Closing Ceremony, where the jury, presided by French actor Vincent Lindon, revealed this year's award winners and a surprising Palme d'Or.

This year's jury included Noomi Rapace, Rebecca Hall, Asghar Farhadi, Joachim Trier and Vincent Lindon, who loved their status as jury so much that they demanded to continue being juries for the next four years, their president jested. 219
