Amlash (IP) - The first Amlash Tea Festival was held in Bililengeh Village in Gilan Province with the participation of tea growers, provincial officials, people, and tourists.

Iran PressIran News: Amlash is one of the prominent tea production regions, and more than 90% of Iranian tea is produced in Gilan Province. Amlash City has 4,850 hectares of tea gardens, and 30,000 tons of green tea leaves are harvested annually.

The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Gilan Province held the first Amlash Tea Festival to introduce Iranian tea and tea gardens as a tourism capacity in Gilan.

The Head of the Iranian Tea Organization, Habib Jahansaz, stated at the Amlash Tea Festival on Sunday evening that almost all Iranians consume tea, adding that in addition to the economic benefits of tea production in Iran, beautiful tea gardens also play a notable role in tourism development.

According to the head of the Iranian Tea Organization, other countries producing tea, mix their product with Iranian tea and market it, since Iranian tea is made in areas without pollution and without spraying.
