Iran Press/ Asia: This was the first telephonic conversation between the Pakistani foreign minister and the US Secretary of State in nine months. The last time Blinken spoke to Shah Mehmood Qureshi was in August 2021 when the US-led foreign forces were withdrawing from Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Biden made the phone call to his Pakistani counterpart as the Pakistani opposition accused the United States of meddling in their internal affairs.
Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday at a rally in Mianwali blamed Washington for its policies in the region and said: "The people of Pakistan will never follow US policies and will decide the fate of their country themselves." 219
