Tehran (IP) - With the Iranian fund-raising events underway in the country, the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei granted one billion tomans for the release of financial-related prisoners.

Iran PressIran News: Fund-raising events are common rituals held in Iran, usually during Ramadan month, to collect money from the benefactors in order to help release those who are in prison due to financial problems. 

Ayatollah Khamenei also on the occasions, including the birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), agrees with granting amnesty to such Iranian prisoners.

Iran's Constitution grants the Leader the right to pardon or commute the sentences of convicts upon a recommendation from the Judiciary chief.
