Iran PressAsia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sergey Lavrov exchanged opinions "on key regional and global agenda issues, emphasizing the development of the situation in Ukraine and Afghanistan," Tass reported as the Russian Foreign Ministry said. "Specific attention was paid to the situation around the JCPOA on Iran's nuclear program," it said following the talks, held on the sidelines of the third ministerial conference of Afghanistan's neighboring countries in China's Tunxi.

The two sides also discussed the implementation of the instructions given by the two countries' leaders following a visit to Moscow by Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi on January 19-20, 2022. The top diplomats "confirmed mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation on all tracks, despite the illegitimate restrictions imposed against the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran by some unfriendly countries," the ministry said. The top diplomats agreed to continue the regular dialogue on all issues of mutual interest, it added.
