Tehran (IP) - Pakistan believes that the best expression of solidifying Islamic solidarity is by strengthening the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the country announced in a statement in 48th Session Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Chair of OIC.

Iran PressAsia: The statement issued on Monday pointed to the Islamic world challenges, including Palestine, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who were continuously being deprived of their inalienable right to self-determination. 

The statement noted: "The rising tide of Islamophobia and hate speech threatens Muslim communities across many parts of the world. Millions of our Afghan brethren remain at the mercy of the elements and confront an uncertain future at the hands of hunger and disease. The harmful impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is yet to be fully contained." 

During the 48th Session  Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Chair, Pakistan will sincerely endeavor to promote unity amongst the Member States, advance the cause of justice for Islamic peoples, and achieve the mutually reinforcing goals of prosperity and development for all OIC Member States, Pakistan said.

The statement recognizes Iran's prominent role in strengthening the Ummah, its constructive contribution to OIC as a founding member, and the deep personal commitment of the Iranian leadership on these issues; We also express gratitude for Iran's active contribution to the success of the 17th Extraordinary CFM session in Islamabad on 19 December 2021."
