Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting on Tuesday with Mongolia's deputy foreign minister Battsetseg Batmunkh and discussed parliamentary interaction, and agricultural cooperation, especially in the field of animal husbandry, between Tehran and Ulaanbaatar.

Iran Press- Iran News/ Deputy Foreign Minister of Mongolia B. Battsetseg met Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Tuesday.

The two parties stressed the good ties, and discussed Mongolian officials' visit to Iran, parliamentary cooperation, and agricultural cooperation, especially in the field of animal husbandry, IRNA reported.

Holding a joint commercial meeting, transit cooperation, including railway transportation, increasing consular cooperation, scientific, cultural, energy and oil collaborations, and also cooperating in international communities were among other issues to be discussed.

Rouhani: Iran ready to enhance economic ties with Mongolia

Back in August 2015, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran is ready to boost economic ties with Mongolia.

The Iranian President made the remarks while receiving the letter of credential of Mongolia new Ambassador to Tehran Dambian Yam, MNA reported.

'Iranian companies are ready to cooperate with Mongolia energy, road construction and mining sectors.' he added

Iran and Mongolia enjoy historical and cultural commonalities, the president said and added “Iran is fully prepared to expand its ties with the country particularly its scientific and cultural relations.”
