On sidelines of GECF:

In a meeting, the Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Minister of Energy of Algeria stressed cooperation in the energy sector.

Iran PressMiddle East: The sixth summit of the gas exporting countries or GECF will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) in Qatar.

The summit is attended by heads and senior officials of gas-exporting countries; The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has also traveled to Doha to attend the summit at the official invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Emir of Qatar.

During the meeting, which took place on Monday on the sidelines of the meeting of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries in Doha, the two sides welcomed the development of cooperation between the two countries, investment opportunities and prospects for bilateral cooperation in energy and mining.

The two sides also stressed the joint efforts within the framework of the General Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF) as well as within the framework of the Declaration of Cooperation between OPEC and beyond.

Also, on Sunday, Iran's Oil Minister Javad Oji held a meeting with Mohammad Hamil, Secretary General of the Association of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF), and the Energy Ministers of Venezuela, Qatar and Nigeria, discussing the expansion of cooperation in energy field.

In these bilateral or multilateral talks, cooperation in areas such as gas swaps, technology transfer, technical knowledge, investment in oil and gas fields were discussed.
