Iran, R. Azerbaijan; Cooeration on securirty to reconstruction

Baku (IP) - On the second day of the visit of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, an agreement on the construction of a road bridge over the AstaraChai was signed.

Iran PressAsia: The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Monday, heading a delegation for a two-day visit. Relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have entered a new phase. Iran's support for the liberation of the Azerbaijani-occupied territories of Azerbaijan has further strengthened relations between the two countries.

In this regard, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov has traveled to Iran to provide a platform for strengthening defense and security cooperation between the two countries.

Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov: "The liberation of Azerbaijan's occupied territories after many years caused joy of the Supreme Leader of Iran and the people of Iran."

"I hope that your visit will create a favorable opportunity for strengthening developing relations, especially in the military, technical, and defense fields, between two countries. We are always satisfied with seeing the Azerbaijani brothers. Because people of Iran feel fraternal people of Azerbaijan closer to themselves," Bagheri added.

Meanwhile, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in his meeting with Minister of Roads Rostam Ghasemi, called for the participation of Iranian companies in the reconstruction of the liberated areas of the Republic Azerbaijan.

I am sure that Iranian companies will start active work on the liberated lands soon, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said receiving in a video format a delegation led by Minister of Road and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, co-chair of Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Rostam Ghasemi.

Ilham Aliyev also stressed the need to cooperate between the two countries in various fields, including industry and technology.

An agreement on the construction of a road bridge over the AstaraChai was signed by Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Kheirullah Khademi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, in Baku on Tuesday.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the AstaraChai border bridge was held today in the presence of Rostam Ghasemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, and Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

"The road bridge construction will be completed by the end of this year," Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at the signing ceremony.

He called the visit of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan an excellent opportunity to examine the cooperation capacities of the two countries in various fields.

"The occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh has created new conditions for the development of relations and cooperation in the region," Mustafayev noted.
