Kabul (IP) - Some Afghans are still trying to leave their country legally and continue their lives in other countries, including Afghanistan's neighbors.

Iran PressAsia: After the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan and despite the group's guarantee to provide security and improve the quality of life of the Afghan people, efforts to leave the country continue in various forms.

Several Afghans have recently applied to the consular section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul to obtain a visa to leave Afghanistan legally and travel to Iran.

Iran has been one of the most important countries hosting Afghan refugees for more than 40 years. Afghans living in Iran enjoy all the benefits of citizenship, including treatment, education, and training.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian recently said that 5,000 Afghan women, children, and men enter Iran every day due to the cold winter. In the past four months, the number of new Afghan refugees in Iran has reached about 800,000.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always welcomed Afghan refugees in Iran, despite the economic problems and the lack of cooperation of responsible international institutions. In addition, the onset of the cold season has accelerated the delivery of Iran's humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
