Iran PressIran News: On Tuesday, Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan referred to the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi to Russia and said: "A wide range of bilateral issues is on the agenda of the talks between the Iranian and Russian presidents, the most important of which is economic and regional issues."

The Russian ambassador to Iran expressed hope that the meeting of the presidents of Iran and Russia would lead to the development of cooperation between the governments of the two countries in various fields.

The Russian diplomat also said that Russia is fully prepared to expand relations with Iran: "I am optimistic about the future of Iran-Russia relations in all areas, including the economy."

Dzhagaryan also spoke about the process of negotiations between Iran and the P4 + 1 group to lift sanctions: "The decision of the previous US administration and withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was a wrong, illegal and obvious violation of international law, specifically Security Council Resolution 2231."

"The Americans did not live up to their commitments at all, and now the question arises as to whether the United States can be trusted under these circumstances," he added.

The Russian ambassador to Iran considered Tehran's request for a guarantee and verification of the lifting of sanctions to be reasonable.
