Kargil (IP) - Thousands of Muslims in Kargil, in the east of Indian controlled Jammu and Kashmir, marched on the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima Zahra (PBUH).

Iran PressAsia: On the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Mohammad’s exalted daughter Lady Fatima Zahra (PBUH), despite the severe cold, thousands of people in a campus of the Seminary of Kargil in Ladakh marched to the main market of the city in a mourning procession.

Lady Fatima, the mother of the second and third Shia Imams, is regarded as a role model by Muslim women for her moral and religious virtues.

Located 204 kilometers (127 mi) to the east of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil is a city and joint capital of the union territory of Ladakh in India and the second-largest city in Ladakh after Leh.
