France expresses progress in Iran nuclear talks

France's foreign minister said on Friday that progress has been made regarding the Iran nuclear talks.

Iran PressEurope: "I remain convinced we can reach a deal. Bits of progress has been made in the last few days," Jean-Yves Le Drian told BFM TV and RMC Radio.

"We have been heading in a positive direction in the last few days, but time is of the essence," he added.

The eighth round of talks, the first under Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, resumed on Monday.

In a telephone conversation with his Norwegian counterpart Anniken Huitfeldt on Thursday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, described the general atmosphere in Vienna as "positive" and said: "If the parties return to their full obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Iran will also stop its remedial measures."
