Vienna (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs said that the US unilateral sanctions cannot be a justification for South Korea's not paying its debts to Iran.

Iran PressEurope: Meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of South Korea, Choi Jong Kun on Thursday in Vienna, Ali Bagheri Kani stressed that the South Korean government was obliged to pay baked Iran's blocked money: "The illegal and unjustifiable refusal of South Korea from repaying its debts to Iran would be a dark point in the history of the two countries relations and Seoul must take action as soon as possible to release the Iranian resources." 

Choi, for his part, said that his country was trying to repay its debt to Iran.

The meeting of the two deputy FMs was held on the demand of the South Korean side at the office of Iran's mission to Vienna. 

The meeting has no direct relationship with the ongoing negotiations between Iran and P4+1.
