Kabul (IP) - People from all walks of life and political and religious figures of Afghanistan, gathered at Iran's embassy in Kabul to commemorate the second martyrdom anniversary of Iran's top anti-terror commander Qassem Soleimani.

Iran PressAsia: Some Afghan religious and political figures spoke at the event about Lt. Gen. Soleimani's character and his role in fighting terrorist groups and thwarting US conspiracies in the region.

The Afghan girls also sang a song in memory of General Soleimani.

Bahador Aminian, Iran's ambassador to Kabul, said Lt. Gen. Soleimani was a hero and a role model.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and PMU deputy head Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a U.S. drone strike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
