Iran PressIran news: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ibrahim Raisi, on Wednesday night, in a telephone call with the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, congratulated him on his re-election as President and stressed the importance of strengthening and deepening relations between the two countries.

"Iran and Nicaragua have vast capacities in the political, economic and social sectors, and the political and economic officials of the two countries can activate these capacities for the benefit of the development and welfare of the two nations," he said.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing that US sanctions and threats do not affect the will of freedom-loving nations in the world, added that the hegemonic system cannot impose its will on the Islamic Republic of Iran and Nicaragua, because the two countries rely on the votes and support of the people and have always stood against the extravagance of the hegemons and arrogance.

Given the growing awareness in the world, it is necessary that Nicaragua and Iran campaign for peace and justice in the world by strengthening relations.

"Despite obstacles and problems, the Iranian people have not stopped and will not stop their progress, and we are confident that Nicaragua will overcome the US threat and sanctions because today the US is declining and getting weaker day by day," Raisi said.

In this telephone conversation, the President of Nicaragua also called for the strengthening of relations between the two nations, countries of Iran and Nicaragua.

"We are confident that the two countries, together with other countries in the world that are fighting against imperialism, will succeed on the path to progress," he said.

Daniel Ortega added that Nicaragua stands by the Islamic Republic of Iran in all international arenas as well as supporting the fundamental right of the Iranian people in the recent negotiations in Vienna."
