Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh

Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the US action in the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani a case of terrorist attack as well as state terrorism and called for bringing all perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press News Agency, Saeed Khatibzadeh explained Iran's latest foreign policy developments in his weekly news conference on Monday.

He first explained the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard, stating that the Martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Soleimani was approaching, and Lt. Gen. Soleimani was a hero in the fight against terrorism."

The act of internationally known terrorists was to take revenge on this great commander. Since its inception, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the target of various forms of terrorism, both political and economic.

The FM spokesman added: "The US action in assassinating Lt. Gen. Soleimani was an instance of a terrorist attack and state terrorism, which was orchestrated by the US administration and was designed and carried out by Donald Trump."

He said: "The US administration has an international responsibility for this heinous act, and Iran will not refrain from any action to bring the perpetrators and advisers of this terrorist act to justice."

"After this terrorist act, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken various measures from the very first hours and will not give up any effort until it brings the perpetrators and commanders of the heinous act to justice.", he noted.

Khatibzadeh pointed to the formation of a joint committee between Iran and Iraq in this regard and added: "One of the outcomes was the signing of a joint document in this regard."

He added: "The second meeting of the Iran-Iraq Joint Committee to investigate this criminal act and to prepare a 300-page report of this act and to present it to the Iraqi side was among the actions of Iran' s Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

He also said that paying attention to public diplomacy to counter the enemy's media war to keep Martyr Soleimani alive, to explain his irreplaceable role to the nations, and to prove the violation of human rights and international rights are among the actions done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 Israel regime rooted in insecurity

Saeed Khatibzadeh, in his remarks, also said that the Israeli regime is rooted in insecurity.

Talking about the Israel regime's sabotage, including the remarks of the Israeli foreign minister, who has allegedly called for an emergency plan to confront Iran if the Vienna talks fail, which includes military, economic, political and diplomatic measures, said: "Regarding the threats of the occupying regime in  Al-Quds, they should better watch the video footage of the Great Prophet 17" joint drills  in the past few days."

The fake Israeli regime occupying Al-Quds has never concealed that it had been in complete opposition to any regional or international arrangements that would lead to the resolution of issues in the region.

"This regime is rooted in insecurity and terror and is fed by the same source, highlighted he.

He said: "Both during the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) era and elsewhere, including the assassination of Lt. Gen. Soleimani, today the former US president announces that the former Israeli prime minister has deceived him, and this is their inevitable fate, regardless of those who want to normalize with this regime. the regime does not use these words to influence Tehran, but to sell expensive goods to those who supply the regime's resources in Europe and the United States."

Khatibzadeh referred to the foreign minister's visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, saying: "Amir- Abdollahian's visit was one of the best trips he had to Baku. Amir- Abdollahian had a very long meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, and there were good agreements on reconstruction and so on, and there was a good surge in relations."

"Today's relationship has transcended the misunderstandings that existed in the media atmosphere. We have always spoken clearly about the national security and the destructive role of the Israel regime in this region, and our friends have heard and given the necessary assurances."

Regarding the fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Khatibzadeh said: "Our talks with Saudi Arabia are moving forward with an understanding of differences and commonalities. We have specific differences on some issues, but we are trying to take a path that results in more significant benefits for the region and the two nations. Iran has announced its readiness to attend the fifth round in Baghdad, and three diplomats have been granted visas to begin reopening Iran's mission in Jeddah, which could serve as a prelude to this."

He also called the issues related to Iranians abroad,as the main pillars of the judiciary.

Regarding President  Raisi's visit to Russia, he said: "This is on the agenda, and ask the president's office for details."
