Senior adviser:
Iran pursues alternatives in case of US' refusal to return JCPOA

Vienna (IP) - In case the United States does not return to the JCPOA, Iran's alternative plan is to continue its nuclear program and strengthen relations with Asian countries.

Iran PressEurope: A senior advisor to the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna Mohammad Marandi says the Iranians are waiting for the fate of the two drafts submitted to the Western party of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to be determined and then will act on the third draft accordingly.

"The third draft is prepared but it has not been submitted yet," Marandi added, saying the two drafts presented were in line with the Joint Action Plan and the implementation of the agreement.

"The Iranians considered the drafts appropriate, and the Americans and the Europeans could not say that Iran has demanded more than what was agreed under the JCPOA," said the adviser to the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna.

He then said the drafts were presented to the Western party and would be discussed at the JCPOA Joint Commission today, and that the European side expressed its dissatisfaction with these two drafts.

The new round of Vienna talks began last Monday, November 29, with the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the P4 + 1 countries to lift the US' illegal sanctions. Ali Bagheri is the head of the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna.

In the previous 6 rounds of the negotiations, no agreement has been reached, but what has been achieved is a draft and can be negotiated.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers commenting and negotiating on all the issues obtained in previous periods as its own rights, and basically, the reason why it has sent a high-level and delegation to Vienna is to use the rights.
