Iran PressEurope: The fighter crashed in the Mediterranean Sea shortly after taking off from the deck of the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier, the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

It is the first time the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, on a maiden voyage, has lost one of its £100 million warplanes.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, the pilot of this fighter survived the accident.

The fighter crashed during daily flight operations.

Investigations into the incident have begun with a focus on technical defects or human error.

The crash could raise concerns about the safety of all other F35B jets - used by a number of different nations, including the United States.
