Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of Iran's Parliament stressed that the dignity and authority of a nation are subjected to their belief in their ability, and the "We Can" motto manifested in the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in the commemoration ceremony held on the occasion of the 10th martyrdom anniversary of the father of Iran's missile industry, Major General Hassan Tehrani Moqaddam, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said what determined either the progress and dignity of a society or its dependence or humiliation was whether it believed in "We Can" or "we can't" concept.

"A clear example an individual, family, society, and ummah that believes it can progress, overcome problems, and stand against dificulties is Iran Islamic Revolution ," Ghalibaf said.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that through realizing the motto 'We Can,' not only the country's economy's problem over sanctions will be improved but also its social and cultural points will be progressed."

"We owe our sovereignty and power to the Iranian people," Ghalibaf recalled, adding that people played a crucial role in Iran's security and developments in any field.

Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, tyranny and arrogance did not allow any progress in the country, and they accepted oppression and domination. Iran's Parliament speaker referred to the US-baked Shah era in Iran. 

Iran's security and power, the main concern of enemies

He highlighted the US's inhuman sanctions against Iran. He said: "Enemies were deeply worried about the Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive power, security and might at the ground, sea, air, and boarders, so they are trying to plot against the country.

Ghalibaf noted that "All of us are obliged to stand against oppression," he highlighted the capacities and achievements of Iran's aerospace power and said that Iran in aerospace power had been promising since the Islamic Revolution victory.

Ghalibaf expressed hope that a better, safer, and the more secure country would be built through unity.

10th Martyrdom anniversary of martyr Maj Gen Tehrani Moghaddam

On Thursday, the ceremony to commemorate the 10th  martyrdom anniversary of  Martyr Hassan Tehrani-Moghaddam was held in Tehran under full compliance with hygienic protocols.

The ceremony was held with Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Deputy Chief of Staff, Brigadier General  Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, the Commander of Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General  Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the IRGC Ground Forces, Brigadier General Hamid Vahidi, Commander of the Army's Air Force and other senior military and national officials, people and families of the martyrs in attendance.

Martyr Major General Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam, born on October 29, 1959, founded Iran's long-range missile technology.

Martyr Tehrani Moghaddam is well known for his studious efforts to develop Iran's missile program and crucial in establishing deterrence against Iran's enemies.

Martyr Major General Tehrani Moghaddam designed the Shahab, Ghadr, and Sejjil ballistic missiles with an operational range of more than 1,000 –2,500 kilometers to deter threats of his country's enemies. 

On November 12, 2011, he was martyred due to a massive explosion at a missile garrison near the capital Tehran.

He was named the Father of Iran's Missile Technology.
