Vienna (IP)- Austrian chancellor at a press briefing announced new measures to tackle the dramatic increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country.

Iran PressEurope: Austrian chancellor Alexander Schellenberg said that as of Monday across Austria, only people vaccinated or had already contracted the coronavirus can enter restaurants, hotels, hairdressers, hospitals, and nursing homes.

Over the past 24 hours, more than 9,388 new coronavirus cases have been identified in the country, according to the Austrian health ministry. This is the highest number of people infected with coronavirus since the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

According to the government's new decision, masks are mandatory in all stores, museums, and libraries. Pointing to the rising number of patients and the reason for these recent decisions, the Austrian chancellor said we should support hospital personnel to protect the country's health system.
