Iran to participate in UN Climate Change conference

Scotland (IP): The Iranian delegation will attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

Iran PressEurope: The 26th UN Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland, on Sunday Oct 31, with the participation of thousands of leaders and representatives from 200 countries.

The meeting, which was postponed for a year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, will discuss the most important issues and challenges related to climate change and environmental crises.

The Iranian delegation will also attend the Conference from next Monday (November 8, 2021), chaired by Ali Salajegheh, Iranian Vice President and Chief of the Department of Environment (DoE).

During the two-week conference, diplomatic talks will be held on how to tackle global warming as a common global challenge.

The heads of 200 countries will present their goals and commitments to tackle the effects of climate change and ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference. It is being held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, between October 31 and November 12, 2021.
