Bushehr (IP) - Iran's President stressed the need to localize the technology of the shipbuilding industry and said the government supports the activities carried out in this field.

Iran PressIran news: Ebrahim Raisi, who was accompanied by the Ministers of Roads and Urban Development, Interior and Petroleum, was briefed on the various stages of design, construction, and repair of naval vessels.

Upon his arrival in Bushehr province, he paid a visit to the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC)'s Shahid Mahallati Maritime Institute and visited the construction and completion of the Shahid Soleimani Cruiser and various naval vessels. 

During the visit, Raisi commemorated the martyrs, especially Nader Mahdavi, who bravely stood up to foreign aggression.

The President called this industrial complex valuable and very important and said: "The activities carried out for the design and construction of vessels in different classes are a manifestation of self-sufficiency and, while having a defensive aspect, plays an important role in activating the maritime economy and preventing currency outflows from the country."

The President also met with the workers working in the complex and emphasized the use of domestic human resources in the province's industrial and shipbuilding centers.
