Tehran (IP): Head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations has appointed the former Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran as Secretary of the Council.

Iran PressIran news: According to the official site of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Kamal Kharazi, Chairman of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, appointed Abbas Araghchi, former Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, as Secretary of the Council.

In Kamal Kharazi's decree, Abbas Araghchi has been asked to reconstruct the secretariat and expand its role in explaining the policies of the Islamic system and enlightening the world's public opinion and realizing Iran's interests.

Araghchi, who is currently an advisor to the foreign minister as well, has previously held positions such as the ambassador to Finland and Japan, the legal and international affairs deputy of the Iranian foreign ministry, and the Foreign Ministry's political deputy.

Kharazi also thanked Mohammad Bagher Khorramshad, the former secretary of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, during his tenure.
