Iran eased past Egypt in straight sets at the 2021 FIVB Men's U21 World Championship on Monday.

Iran did not let any surprises in their match against Egypt, and although the team from Africa fought hard, the 2019 champions seized a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-23, 25-20)

Iran’s Amin Khalili scored 12 points and Elsayed Abdelrahman led Egypt with 15 points.

Iran will play Morocco in Pool G on Tuesday.

Mahdi Jelveh, the middle blocker of Iran praised the victory as the result of teamwork, saying, “It was a team performance. Every time I did something good on the court, it means that someone before that had done their job right.”

However, Ibrahim Raslan, the libero of Egypt said, “It was a tough game for us. We tried hard, but we couldn’t deliver our game. We wanted badly to win, but we couldn’t. We hope to raise the level in the remaining matches.”
