Tafresh (IP) - The ancient underground site of the thousand-year-old multi-stage city in Tafresh, Markazi Province, has been excavated up to 7 floors, becoming one of the largest underground sites in Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The Tafresh underground homemade cave was built based on archaeological data in the Seljuk period and was used until the Safavid period.

Underground cities are a rare example of the genius of the people in the field of civil and passive defenses.

This part of the ancient architecture with mysterious nested corridors, skillful and strange architecture has a high attraction for tourism.

The homemade cave was created to shelter the people of the cities in environmental disasters and the danger of enemy attacks. Their distinctive feature is that they were made without using any artificial materials and only with the help of hand tools. At the same time, across time, they remain original with much to reveal.
